Voices from the fringes of Europe

Welcome Notes LOUDER is more than a music program. It’s a voice amplification for young people on the fringes of Europe. It’s a bridge between worlds. A plea for solidarity in a time when divisions are fueled. Together we’re building a Europe where human rights are celebrated again – carried by music, shared by young people, and heard by millions.

The rise of intolerance, racism, and hatred in Europe is leading to the marginalization of millions of people fleeing war and persecution. Fearmongering and negative framing shape public discourse.
Music is our tool to counter this.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Mission

We engage children and young people in asylum centers in the Netherlands and Bosnia and Herzegovina in creative songwriting workshops. These workshops are led by music leaders trained by Musicians Without Borders, who use music as a tool for mental and psychosocial support. They help young people make their lives a little more beautiful, safer, healthier, and happier. We then collaborate with international artists, producers, and venues to amplify the voices of these young people. The audience is touched on an emotional level, with the power to truly bring about a shift in consciousness.

  • Direct mental health and psychosocial support Our trained music leaders run creative, expressive workshops to young people in displacement. Young workshop participants often live in unsafe and uncertain circumstances, far from home, sometimes without their families. Our team of music leaders are trained to provide mental health and psychosocial support through music and to make the children’s lives a little more beautiful, safer, healthier, and happier.
  • Artivist campaigns Welcome Notes LOUDER brings together a wide range of producers and artists with young participants to share the music and stories they create with a broad audience. This happens through events, online platforms, and media.
