Decades after civil war, many communities in El Salvador continue to face the effects of violence, inequality and forced migration. ¡Soy Música! uses music to strengthen peaceful coexistence by embedding creative, participatory music practices within schools and communities across the country.

Developed together with the Salvadoran Ministry of Education and UNICEF, the programme empowers teachers and community leaders to create safer, more inclusive learning environments where children and young people can thrive.

Mission

¡Soy Música! builds long-term capacity within El Salvador’s education system by training teachers and community leaders to use music as a tool for inclusion, wellbeing and peaceful coexistence. Through national partnerships, the programme continues to expand its reach across schools and communities. Current priorities include:

• Music Leadership for Educators Teachers and community leaders receive practical training to facilitate inclusive music activities that strengthen creativity, cooperation and social-emotional learning.
• Music in Schools and Communities The methodology is embedded in classrooms and community spaces, helping children and young people develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships through music.
• Scaling National Impact Working closely with the Ministry of Education and UNICEF, the programme supports a growing national network of trainers while expanding access through teacher training, community initiatives and educational media.
